Green Ark Foundation

Green Ark Foundation is located at No.10, Loganathan Street in HL Colony. We are in the Anna Nagar part of Kanchipuram, 600075. Being in Kanchipuram, you’re always near a temple or a silk shop, but our street is more of a regular living area. The office is a small house that we use for all our foundation activities and meetings. We have a little garden in the front where we try to grow some local plants, though they don't always survive the harsh summer heat. People often ask about the name on the sign, and we just tell them we like trees and keeping our spaces clean and healthy. We aren't some big group from the city with huge funding. It’s just a few of us who care about the environment. The rooms inside are a bit cramped because we have a lot of seeds and tools stored in the corners and under the desks. We don't have a professional cleaning crew, so there might be a bit of dust on the shelves and desks. We spend our days planning small green projects and talking to the local council about the parks and trees in the neighborhood. It’s honest, local work that doesn't always show fast results, but we keep at it. Sometimes we have volunteers stop by, and we just give them a spade and tell them where to start. We don't have fancy brochures or a high-tech website to show off to people. We just do what we can with the resources we have here in Anna Nagar.
