Our shop for Gem Leather Crafts is at 8/15, G. A. A. K., on 3rd Street in the Thousand Lights area. It’s an interesting part of the city to work in, with plenty of history and narrow streets. We’ve been tucked away here for a while now, focusing on leather work. Leather is a tricky material to work with because every hide has its own marks and feel. We spend a lot of time just looking at the pieces before we even start cutting. Our workspace isn't very large, so we have to be smart about how we use the space. Tools hang on the walls, and there are stacks of leather in the corners. It gets a bit noisy when we’re punching holes or hammering seams, but the neighbors don't seem to mind much. We don't have a big marketing team or a polished brand image. We’re just people who know how to handle a needle and thread and a sharp knife. Thousand Lights can get quite crowded, especially during the middle of the day, but once you step inside our door, it’s just about the work. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay focused on whatever is on the table that day. It’s a slow process sometimes, but we aren't in a rush to do things poorly. We just keep our heads down and keep working on the next leather piece.
