We are based in Kodambakkam at a place called Lakshmi Nivas. The house number is 5 and we are on Dr Subbarayan Nagar. It’s a typical Chennai residential street with houses close together. Founder Ramachandra Iyer Foundation operates from this quiet spot. We have been here for a while and the neighbors all know us. It’s an old building so it has character, though the pipes leak sometimes. We have a few rooms set up as offices. It doesn’t feel like a cold corporate space. It feels like a home. We keep the windows open mostly to let the breeze in, even if it gets a bit dusty from the street. Kodambakkam is a busy area with the railway station nearby. We can hear the trains sometimes if the wind is blowing the right way. Our daily routine is pretty straightforward. We come in, check the mail, and get to work on our projects. We don't have a big staff, just a few dedicated people. Sometimes we sit out on the porch for a break. It's a good place to think. We don't use fancy software or high-tech gadgets if we can help it. We prefer doing things the traditional way. The files are mostly kept in physical folders. It’s a bit cramped with all the paperwork but we know where everything is. It works for us. We've been here long enough to feel part of the street.
