Eegam Foundation

We are based on the ground floor of a building at 38/26 Madha Church Street in Royapuram. It’s a very old part of Chennai with a lot of history and narrow streets. Being on the ground floor is lucky because it stays a bit cooler than the upper levels. We have been here for quite some time. The office is right there on the street, so we see people walking by all day long. Sometimes we leave the door open to get some air, and we end up chatting with the neighbors. It’s that kind of place. The space inside is quite basic with some old wooden desks and a few chairs that have seen better days. We don't really care about having a modern look. As long as the lights work and we have a place to sit, we are happy. There’s a lot of activity in Royapuram, especially near the church, so it never feels lonely here. We usually start our day early before it gets too loud outside. We handle all our own filing and cleaning. There isn't a cleaning crew or anything like that. We just take turns. It’s a very simple way of doing things, but it works for us. We don't have big meetings or elaborate plans. We just take things one day at a time and focus on the work right in front of us.
