Working at Malar Hospitals on Gandhi Nagar First Main Road in Adyar means dealing with a lot of traffic every single day. The hospital is a big landmark in this part of the city. We are tucked away in the Gandhi Nagar area which is usually pretty busy with cars and bikes zooming past. It is a lively spot to be in. Our daily routine starts early when the sun is just coming up over Adyar. The first main road is always buzzing with people heading to work or school. Inside the hospital, things are a bit different from the chaos outside. It is more structured and we all have our specific tasks to handle. People come from all over this side of town because the location is so central. You can hear the city noise if you stand near the main entrance for too long. We have got used to the hum of the air conditioning and the sound of footsteps in the hallways. It is a large building with many floors but we mostly stay in our section. The neighborhood has changed a lot over the years with new shops opening up nearby. Still, the hospital remains a constant fixture on this road. We see a lot of familiar faces coming through the gates. The staff here has been together for a long time and we just get on with things.
