Dinesh Ent Clinic

The clinic is on Velachery Main Road, which anyone in Chennai knows is a nightmare for traffic. We have an old number and a new number, 54 and 298, which sometimes confuses the delivery guys. It’s an ENT clinic, so we deal with a lot of earaches and throat infections. The space is pretty simple. There’s a desk for the receptionist and a few rows of plastic chairs for people to wait. We have some posters on the wall about how the ear works, but they’ve been there since I started. The building is right on the main road, so you can always hear the buses going by. It’s a bit dusty because of all the construction nearby, but we try to sweep every morning. Patients usually show up in waves. Sometimes it’s empty for an hour and then ten people walk in at once. That’s just how it goes in Velacheri. I think people like that we aren't a big, cold hospital. It feels more like a local shop where you can actually talk to the person behind the counter. We use a lot of paper for our records, and the cabinets are getting pretty full. It’s just a small clinic doing its thing on a very busy street. We’re here most days except for Sundays when the road is finally a bit quiet.
