If you ever find yourself walking over in Narasingarayanipettah, you might end up passing by our place at 97-2-46. It is not a very big building, but it fits what we need to do for the time being. Cpf & Co. has been operating out of here for a while now. Most of the time, the office is just filled with the sound of people talking or the hum of the old fans overhead. We have some heavy wooden desks that have been around since the very first day we opened. They have got plenty of scratches and marks on them, but they still hold up just fine for our paperwork. Dealing with the day-to-day stuff takes up almost all of our time. We spend a lot of our mornings checking through folders and making sure the stock matches what we have written down on our lists. It is a lot of manual work, really. The area around us is usually pretty lively. There is always someone moving something or a neighbor shouting a greeting across the street to someone else. We do not have a big sign or anything flashy on the outside of the building. People who know where we are just come in through the main door. Sometimes the rain makes the street out front a bit muddy, so we have to be careful about tracking dirt inside the office. We usually just sweep it out at the end of the day before we head home.
