Black Balener

Our place, Black Balener, is tucked away on the fifth floor of number 38 Mint Street. It is a bit of a climb if you aren’t using the lift, but we’ve been here long enough that the stairs do not bother us anymore. Mint Street is always crowded, as anyone who knows the area can tell you. Downstairs it is all noise and people pushing past, but once you get up to the fifth floor, it is a lot quieter. We do our work up here away from the main street mess. We handle garments and different apparel items. It is a workspace more than a fancy store. There are piles of fabric and boxes around most days because we are usually right in the middle of a project. We started out small and just stayed in this spot because it is central, even if being on the fifth floor is a little unusual for some. Most of the people we deal with are used to the location by now. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking through orders that come in. It is not a glamorous setup, just a bunch of desks, some racks, and the sound of the city coming through the windows. We keep things moving and try to stay on top of the schedule. It is an honest day’s work for us. We do not see any reason to move when everything we need is right here in this building.
