Abirami Watches

Our shop is at 63 A on East Jones Road in Saidapet. It is a very easy place to find because the Saidapet Mosque is right nearby and everyone knows where that is. The road stays busy with people walking to the market or heading towards the station. We spend most of our time at the small workbench near the window. You get a lot of dust from the street so we are constantly cleaning the glass. It is not a very big shop but it fits everything we need for the watches. We have the usual wall clocks hanging up and they all tick at slightly different times which creates a bit of a background hum. People from the neighborhood come in for small things mostly. Maybe a battery died or a pin fell out of a metal band. We don't try to be something we aren't. It's just a local watch shop where you can get things sorted without a fuss. In the evenings, the street lights come on and the area gets a different kind of energy. We usually stay open until the last few people finish their shopping. My chair is a bit squeaky and the floor tiles are worn down in the spots where we stand the most. It’s just a normal place where we work every day.
