Apollo First Med

Being located at 154 Poonamallee High Road in Kilpauk means we deal with a lot of noise from the main road. Apollo First Med is right in the thick of things. The building is older than it looks from the front. Every morning, the security guards start their shift and the front doors get propped open for a bit to let the air circulate. It’s a medical space, so there is always that faint smell of antiseptic hanging around the hallways. We have a lot of rooms and they all look pretty much the same, with white walls and tiled floors that get mopped twice a day. The staff canteen is small, but it’s where most of the talk happens over quick lunches. We see a lot of people coming through these doors every day. Some are regular faces from around Kilpauk, and others are just passing through. It gets crowded around noon, and the waiting area can get a bit cramped when families show up together. We don't have any flashy decorations or anything like that. It’s just a practical place where medical work happens. Sometimes the lift makes a weird clicking sound, but it hasn't stuck yet. We just keep moving, answering phones, and filing charts. It's a constant flow of activity from the moment we unlock the doors until the last person leaves in the evening. It is a lot of work but we stay on top of it.
