The group is located in Village Mogla, right near the Dhuna post office in the Itkhori area of Chatra. Itkhori Aajeevika Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited is mostly about the local women coming together to get things done. We work out of a small spot in the village. It’s a farming community, so there is always someone passing by with tools or crops on their way to the fields. We spend our mornings talking about the land and what needs to be planted next. The roads around here can be a bit rough during the rains, but we manage to get around. We aren't a big corporation with suits; we are just neighbors working on our livelihood together. Most of us have known each other since we were kids growing up here. This company was started to help us get better results from our small plots of land. We have meetings under the shade of the trees sometimes when the office gets too stuffy in the heat. It is a lot of work coordinating everyone, but it feels right. We don't use big fancy words here. We just talk about seeds, weather, and the market prices we see. Sometimes we have to travel all the way to Chatra for paperwork, which takes a whole day. It is a quiet life in Mogla but we stay busy. There is always a lot to do before the sun goes down. We are just a group of women trying to make it work.
