Vokkaligara Sangha School

Vokkaligara Sangha School is on KM Road in Mudigere. Being in the Chikmagalur area, we get some really nice weather, especially during the monsoon when everything turns bright green. The school is easy to find because it's right on the main road. It’s not a giant campus, just a couple of buildings that have been added to over time. The playground is a bit uneven and gets muddy when it rains, but the kids don't seem to mind at all. We have standard classrooms with desks that are scratched up from years of use. Mudigere is a small town, so we know most of the people who walk past our gate every day. There’s a small shop nearby where everyone gets their snacks. Inside the school, the walls are painted a simple cream color and we pin up the students' drawings to give it some life. It’s not a place with high-end tech in every room; we still use a lot of paper and pencils. The teachers often stay late to finish their work, and you can see the lights on from the road. It’s a very local feel here. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just open the doors in the morning and close them once the last bus leaves. It’s a steady, everyday kind of life in Mudigere.
