St. Mary'S Convent High School

Our school is located in Mudigere, over in the Chatamaidana area on MH Road. St. Mary'S Convent High School has a long history in this part of Chikmagalur. The building itself is older, with that solid feel you don't find much anymore. We have a gate that opens onto the main road, and every morning it’s a scene of parents on scooters dropping off their kids. Inside, the hallways are high-ceilinged and keep fairly cool even when the sun is beating down on the town. We have a simple staff room where we sit and discuss the day’s plans over a quick break. The classrooms are filled with the usual stuff—posters on the walls, stacks of books, and rows of benches. It’s a place that feels lived-in and comfortable for both the teachers and the pupils. We don’t worry too much about having the latest gadgets; we focus on the books and the lessons. Outside, there’s enough space for the children to run around a bit during their break time. Mudigere is a quiet place mostly, and our school fits right into that pace of life. We see the same faces every day, and after a while, everyone feels like family. It’s just a regular convent school where we try to keep things running smoothly and make sure the students are learning what they should. There is always something to fix or a room to tidy up before the next day starts.
