We are over in Ganesh Nagar, right near the church in the Tukum area of Chandrapur. Madhukar Sakharkar’s house is where we got started, and House No 30 is still where most things happen for us. Being in Chandrapur, we know how people like their food to taste, so we focus on spices that fit that local flavor. It isn't a big fancy operation. Mostly it’s just us working with what we have to get the spice blends right for the kitchens around here. People know the landmark of the church, so finding us isn't too hard. We handle the grinding and mixing ourselves because that's the way it's been done. Sometimes the dust from the chili or the turmeric gets everywhere, but that is just part of the job. We didn't want to go the corporate route with shiny offices. Instead, we stay here in the neighborhood where we can see the people using our products. It’s practical work. We spend our days checking the quality of what comes in and making sure it goes out the way it should. The weather in Chandrapur can get pretty hot, which affects how we store things, so we’ve had to learn the best ways to keep everything fresh without overcomplicating things. We’re just a local business trying to make sure the spices people buy are actually worth using in their daily cooking. It’s a simple life here in Tukum, and we like it that way.
