You can find Hindustan Paints & Minerals at C-25 in the MIDC area on Ghugghus Road. Being out in the industrial zone means there is always a lot of dust and heavy trucks rumbling past the gate. We deal with minerals and paint materials, so things can get a bit messy. Most of us wear old clothes that we don't mind getting stained. The sun beats down pretty hard on the corrugated roof of the facility. We have a small office area, but most of the action happens out on the floor where the mixing and grinding take place. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting bags and checking the consistency of the batches. We’ve been at this location for a good while. The road outside isn't the smoothest, but it gets the trucks where they need to go. We have a rhythm here, starting early to beat the worst of the heat. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend the afternoon fixing them instead of producing. That’s just part of the job. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or advertisements. We just focus on the minerals and the paints. It’s a gritty, busy place but it’s our workplace and we’re used to the noise and the grit of the MIDC life. We just keep the orders moving and make sure the loading is done correctly before the drivers leave.
