Swiss Pie is our small shop in Sector 19, over in 19D at number 35. We started this place because we really enjoyed baking, and it just grew from there. The kitchen isn't very big, so things can get a little cramped when we have several pies in the oven at once. You can usually smell the flour and sugar from the street. We don't have a professional decorator or anything, so the shop looks a bit plain, but we think that’s okay. The wooden chairs we have for customers are a bit mismatched, but they are comfortable enough for a quick bite. Some mornings we are running a bit late and the first batch of pies isn't ready until ten, but our regulars don't seem to mind too much. We do everything by hand, so no two pies look exactly the same. One might have a slightly thicker crust or more fruit. It’s just me and a helper in the back most days. We don't use any big advertisements or flyers. People just find out about us from their friends or neighbors. Sometimes the flour gets on our clothes and we look a bit of a mess, but that’s part of the work. We just want to make something that tastes like home. It’s a simple life here in the sector. We stay open until the crusts are gone.
