San Churro

Out here on Kempapura Main Road in Hebbal, our San Churro shop at 40-41 stays pretty active. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but for the people in Sector 9, we’re right around the corner. We spend a lot of time working with chocolate and dough. The fryers for the churros are the heart of the place, and they give off a lot of heat. You can smell the sugar as soon as you walk in. We have a lot of tables, but on the weekends, they all fill up pretty fast. It gets a bit chaotic when everyone wants their chocolate dips at the same time. We try to keep the floor clean, but sugar and chocolate tend to get everywhere no matter how careful we are. The staff here is mostly local, so we know the shortcuts and the best times to avoid the traffic on the main road. We see a lot of families and groups of friends who come in specifically for something sweet after dinner. It’s not a quiet place, especially when the music is going and the blender is running. We don’t do anything too fancy with the decor, just enough to make it comfortable to sit for a bit. It’s a lot of work keeping the machines running and the supplies stocked up, but it’s what we do here in Hebbal. We just keep the chocolate melting and the churros frying.
