Rice Mills

Our place, Rice Mills, is located at SCO-17 in the I T Park area. It might seem like an odd spot for a grain business since there are so many software companies around us, but we’ve been here for a while. We handle the trading and processing of different types of rice. The office is pretty small and is often filled with sample bags of grain that we have to check. It’s a bit dusty, but that’s just the nature of working with rice. We don't have a big staff, just a few people who handle the phones and the logistics. Most of our day is spent talking to suppliers and making sure the transport trucks are on schedule. The computer we use is quite old and makes a loud noise when it starts up, but it gets the job done. We don't have any shiny brochures or a fancy reception area. If someone comes in, they usually just pull up a plastic chair and we talk business over a cup of tea. Sometimes the traffic in I T Park makes it hard for our deliveries to get in, which can be a bit of a headache. We just take things as they come and try to keep our customers happy with the stock we have. It’s a steady, quiet kind of business that pays the bills.
