Anpurna

We are located in Sector 32d of Chandigarh, right near the Nirman Theater. If you know the area, you know it can get pretty lively when a movie is starting or ending. Our shop is in Sco-359. It’s a standard commercial space like the others on the row. We’ve been here for a while now. Chandigarh is a very planned city but our little corner feels very lived-in and busy. We have a lot of students and office workers coming in every day. They usually want something quick to eat before heading back. We aren't a big restaurant with waiters in fancy uniforms. It’s more of a counter service feel. We keep the place as clean as we can. The floor gets a lot of footprints and mud during the rainy season. We have a few tables inside. Sometimes people just stand and eat outside on the pavement if the weather is nice. My uncle started this and now I help him run it. We don't use any fancy machines, just basic gas stoves. The menu is written on a small chalkboard near the entrance. It changes a little bit depending on what vegetables are good at the market that day. We don't do home delivery with those phone apps much. People just come by on their own. It’s easier that way for us. We like seeing the regular faces every afternoon. Sometimes we sit and talk with the neighbors when it is slow.
