Muktahasta Micro Foundation

Muktahasta Micro Foundation is located over in Melaghar at Tower Chowmuhani, specifically in Purba Chandigarh. We are set up at Khokan Chandra Das’s place. It’s a different world out here in Sepahijala compared to the big cities. The area is very local and grounded. Our office is simple, just what you would expect for a place in this part of the country. We don't have air conditioning or fancy glass partitions. We just have some ceiling fans and solid walls to keep the rain out during the monsoon. Being near the chowmuhani means there is always something happening outside, with people moving through and markets nearby. We spend our time talking to the local folks and managing the small details of our work. It’s a very hands-on kind of life here. We don't use a lot of complicated technology; mostly we just rely on notebooks and a couple of basic computers. The pace is slower, but we still get a lot done because we know everyone around us. It feels right to be part of the local fabric in Melaghar. We are just a small group of people working out of a familiar spot. We don’t have a big sign or any marketing flyers. Most people find us through word of mouth or by just walking past the tower. It’s a basic setup for basic work that actually matters to the people living right here.
