J M D Spices

J M D Spices is situated in Sector 45 on Nehru Road, specifically at number 601. You can usually smell the shop before you see it because of all the peppers and turmeric we have in the bins. We sell spices in bulk and in smaller packets too. Nehru Road is a decent spot and we get a lot of foot traffic throughout the day. The shop is filled with sacks of different seeds and powders. We spend a lot of time weighing things out on the scales. It gets a bit dusty with all the fine powders in the air, but that is part of the job. We have been here for a few years and the locals know us for their cooking needs. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything, we just rely on people walking past. Sometimes the spice shipments arrive late and we have to tell people to come back the next day. The interior is quite plain with just shelves and some storage containers. We try to keep things clean, but with spices, it is a constant battle. We are just a small team working here every day. We like the rhythm of the work and talking to the regulars who come in to restock their kitchens. It is a basic business but it keeps us busy and connected to the street.
