Himalayan Volunteers Foundation

Himalayan Volunteers Foundation is based out of Sector 38B, specifically at house number 1539. We’ve been in this part of Chandigarh for a while now and it suits us just fine. It’s a regular neighborhood, not a business district, which is how we like it. The office is basically just a few rooms where we keep our supplies and records. It can get a bit cluttered when we have a lot of volunteers coming through. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If you knock on the door, one of us will just come and open it. We spend a lot of our time planning trips and organizing groups. It’s a lot of logistical work that people don’t usually see. The 160036 area is pretty quiet, which helps when we need to focus. We don’t have a big budget for fancy things, so we make do with what we have. Most of our furniture is stuff we’ve had for years. It’s a bit worn out but still works. We try to stay focused on the tasks at hand rather than worrying about how the office looks. Some days are more chaotic than others, especially when a big project is starting up. But we enjoy the mess. It means things are happening. We’re just a bunch of people trying to be useful without any grand ego about it.
