About Govt Polytechnic For Women – Education in Chandigarh
Working at the Govt Polytechnic For Women in Chandigarh is a bit different because of how the city is laid out. We are in House No. 1052, Sector-8/C. If you know Chandigarh, you know Sector 8 is a nice, organized area with lots of trees and wide roads. The college fits into that quiet, residential vibe. It’s not a massive, intimidating institution. It feels more like a part of the community. I spend my time here dealing with the administrative side of things, and it’s a lot of plain, honest work. We don't use fancy language or try to sound like a big private corporation. We are a government school, so things move at a steady, sometimes slow pace. The building is well-kept but it shows its age in a comfortable way. The students are mostly local girls who walk or take the bus. It’s a safe, calm environment where we focus on the basics. During lunch, the staff usually sits together and talks about everyday things like the weather or city news. There’s no pressure to be the best or world-class, we just want to be a good place for these women to learn a trade. It’s a simple, straightforward life in Sector 8. We show up, we do our tasks, and we make sure the students have what they need.
