Descalzo Foundation

Our setup is over at House Number 8 in New Basti, Block A, right by the Race Course. It’s actually care of Jyotsana Chaudhary, so that’s the name you’ll see if you’re looking for the place. It’s not one of those fancy office buildings with a revolving door. It’s a real home where we’ve carved out some space to run the Descalzo Foundation. Being near the Race Course is nice because it gives us a bit of a landmark when we’re explaining where we are to people. The New Basti area has its own vibe, very different from the more planned parts of the city. It’s a bit more lived-in and real. We spend most of our mornings getting through emails and planning out the week. The house can be a bit busy at times, especially when the neighbors are out and about. We like it that way, though. It keeps us connected to what’s actually happening on the street. We don't have a big sign outside or anything like that. We just go about our work in a quiet way. It’s a practical arrangement for us. We find that working from a residential spot like Block A makes the foundation feel more like a community thing than a business. It’s just how we decided to set things up from the start, and it’s been working out fine for everyone involved here.
