Being up here in the hills of Pauri Garhwal means the air feels different but the daily work is still the same as anywhere else. We are located at units D-21 and D-22 inside the Sidcul Industrial Estate. It is a bit of a long drive to get up here from the main town. The Sigaddi Growth Centre is where a lot of different businesses are all clustered together in one area. We have a decent amount of space for our operations. It is mostly just grey metal walls and hard concrete floors inside the units. We spend our days managing the incoming loads and making sure things are moving out on time. The weather can get very cold in the winter months, so we all have to wear heavy jackets while we are working on the floor. It is not a fancy place with carpets or nice furniture. It is just a functional industrial unit. We have some heavy equipment that needs a lot of looking after and regular oiling. Most of the people who work here come from the nearby villages. We all know each other’s families pretty well. Sometimes the power goes out without warning and we just have to sit and wait it out or get the generator started up. It is a very quiet area once you leave the gates of the estate. We don't do much in the way of advertising our name. People mostly find us through word of mouth or seeing the sign. We keep our logs on paper.
