I’m working out of Flat No. N-12 in Vishal Gardan, which is right on the Shikrapur Road in Chakan. Being a civil engineer in an area like Chakan means there is always something going on with all the industrial growth nearby. My office isn't anything special, just a regular flat where I keep my equipment and files. I spend a lot of time on the road between different sites, so I’m not always at my desk. When I am, I’m usually busy with site reports or checking over some engineering plans. The traffic on Shikrapur Road can be a real headache sometimes, but it’s a good location to reach the different projects around Pune. I don't have a big team or a fancy reception area. It's just me handling the engineering side of things for local builders and people putting up houses. I like the practical side of civil eng, getting my boots muddy on-site and then coming back here to sort out the technical details. Vishal Gardan is a decent place to be based, it’s central enough for what I do. Sometimes I’ll be up late finishing a report because a deadline is coming up fast. It’s a lot of responsibility, making sure everything is safe and built to the right standard. I just take it one day at a time and try to do a solid job for whoever hires me. I make sure all the measurements are spot on before I leave a site.
