Down in Village Mitrasen Pur, life revolves around the crops. Jeevan Ankur Farmer Producer Company Limited is our way of keeping things organized. We run things out of Ram Krapal’s spot, which is a familiar sight for anyone living around Tikhwa or near Sadhari Lal’s area. We aren't some big city operation. We are just local people who grow things for a living. Most of us have been doing this for decades, following the same cycles our fathers did. We realized that if we pooled our resources, we could buy what we need for a bit less. It makes sense when you think about it. The work is sweaty and tiring, but it's what we know. There’s no big manual on how we run things; we just talk it out and decide what’s best for the group. We deal with whatever crops are in season, trying to keep the pests away and the soil healthy. Sometimes we sit around at the village meeting spot and just complain about the rain, but usually, we’re busy moving bags of grain or fixing some old machinery. It’s an honest way to live, even if it’s not glamorous. We don't have fancy titles or a polished front desk. We just have our land and each other. If you visit us, expect to see mud on our boots and a lot of talk about the upcoming harvest and the price of grain.
