U S Embassy

This particular branch of the U S Embassy is situated at 16/335H, Bapa Nagar, right on Hardhayan Singh Road in Karol Bagh. Being in New Delhi 110005, it’s in the middle of a very hectic part of the city. The office itself is quite busy, with a lot of people coming in and out for various official reasons. We have to keep things moving quickly, but the paperwork always seems to pile up on the counters. The building is a typical Karol Bagh structure, a bit older but solid. Hardhayan Singh Road is always full of cars and people, so there is a constant background noise of horns and shouting. Inside, the air conditioning struggles a bit against the Delhi heat, especially in the peak of summer. We have rows of filing cabinets that are packed with documents, and the desks are usually covered in stamps and envelopes. It’s not a glamorous job, even if it is an embassy office. Most of our time is spent verifying details and making sure all the forms are filled out correctly. We don’t have a lot of space for relaxing, so we usually just eat our lunch at our desks while we keep working. Bapa Nagar has a specific feel to it, and we’ve become a part of the local landscape over the years. We just try to get through the daily tasks without too much trouble from the equipment or the crowds outside.
