Surbhi Chems

Down here in Beadonpura, things are always moving fast. We are located on the ground floor at 33/3167, which is a busy spot in Karol Bagh. There are always rickshaws and delivery boys rushing past the door. Surbhi Chems is where we handle all our daily work, mostly surrounded by boxes and lists. The shop isn't fancy at all. We have these old metal shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. It can get a bit dusty because of the construction that always seems to be happening on the street outside. My brother and I usually take turns handling the customers who drop by. Some of them have been coming to us for years. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People just know where we are. The ground floor location helps because moving heavy containers in and out is much easier than if we were upstairs. Lunch is usually just a quick tiffin we eat behind the counter between phone calls. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour, and we just sit there in the dark chatting with the neighbors. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. Karol Bagh has its own rhythm, and we’ve just become a small part of it over time. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure things are where they should be for the next day.
