Shivani Castings & Alloys Pvt Ltd is over in Kamla Nagar at F-29. This isn't the kind of shop where you walk in to buy a loaf of bread or a shirt. We do heavy metal work here. The air inside is often heavy and there is a lot of heat coming from the furnaces. We handle different types of alloys and various casting processes every day. The walls at F-29 are stained with soot and the floor is quite uneven in some places. We have big heavy tools and iron molds sitting everywhere you look. It’s a serious place for serious work. The workers wear heavy leather boots and we are always watching out for safety. It’s not pretty to look at. We have a small office at the front where the phone rings quite a bit. Usually, it's people asking about their specific orders or the price of raw metal that day. We’ve been doing this work for a long time now. Kamla Nagar has changed a lot around us, but we stay right here. The machines are old but they still do the job better than some of the new ones I've seen in other shops. It’s a noisy business. When the grinders are going, you can hardly hear yourself think. We take a long break in the afternoon when it gets way too hot to stand near the metal.
