Ped Intensive Care Unit St. Stephens Hospital

This is the Ped Intensive Care Unit over at St. Stephens Hospital in Tis Hazari. It’s a busy corner of the hospital, as you can probably imagine. We spend our shifts here looking after the kids who need the most attention. Tis Hazari is always buzzing with people coming and going from the courts and the metro, so there is never a dull moment outside. Inside the unit, though, things are a lot different. It’s a serious environment, but we try to keep a bit of a calm head about us for the sake of the families. We’ve been here at St. Stephens for a long time, and the hospital itself has a lot of history in this part of the city. Most of us who work here have seen just about everything. It’s not an easy job, but it is what we do. The rooms are filled with equipment that beeps all day long, and there is always a nurse or a doctor moving around. We don't have much time for anything other than patient care. It’s a bit of a maze in the hospital if you don’t know your way around, but people eventually find us. We deal with a lot of stress, but we also see a lot of families sticking together. It’s just a part of the daily life here in the intensive care unit. We focus on the kids and try to get through the day.
