Lotus Shoe Lace Factory

Our factory is tucked away at 17/15 on the Main Road in the Anand Parbat Industrial Area. Lotus Shoe Lace Factory has been operating from this same spot for quite a bit. If you’ve ever walked through Anand Parbat, you know it’s a maze of workshops and small units. We spend our days around the machines that braid and tip the laces. It’s noisy and there is always a bit of lint in the air, but that is how a lace factory looks. We don't have a big corporate office. Our office is just a small desk in the corner of the floor where we keep the ledgers and take orders. We make all kinds of laces here, for sneakers and boots and everything else. It’s funny how people don't think much about shoe laces until they break. We think about them all day. The street outside is always crowded with loaders and rickshaws, so getting materials in and out takes some patience. We have a handful of workers who know these machines inside out. Sometimes a machine acts up and we have to spend the afternoon fixing it ourselves. We aren't a massive multinational. We are just a local factory doing one thing. We focus on getting the orders out to the shops. It's honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till evening. There is always a lot of string around and we try to keep it sorted so no one trips.
