Khurana Electronics

My father, Mr. Lakhpat Singh, started this place and I grew up around all these wires and circuit boards. We are located at Rz-2915/32 in Tughlakabad Extension, right in the thick of things. It is not one of those fancy showrooms you see in the malls. It is a bit crowded inside because we have a lot of spare parts and old units lying around for repairs. If you walk past the lane, you can usually hear someone testing a speaker or the sound of a soldering iron heating up. We handle all kinds of electronics that people bring in when they break down. Sometimes it is a television that won't turn on or a microwave that stopped heating. We spend a lot of our day just sitting at the back bench under a bright light looking at tiny components. The shop gets quite dusty because of all the traffic outside in New Delhi, but we try to keep the workbench clear. Neighbors just drop by to ask questions or get a small wire fixed. It’s a simple routine and we have been at this address for a long time now. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the tools. Most days we are just busy with whatever comes through the door. It is honest work and it keeps us occupied from morning until we close the shutters at night.
