You can find Jaintiya Masale Private Limited at Office No. 306 on the third floor of 6A/1, WEA in Karol Bagh. Being on the third floor means we get a bit of a view of the busy streets below, but it also means a lot of climbing when the elevator is acting up, which happens more often than we’d like. Karol Bagh is always full of energy and noise, with people shopping and cars honking at all hours. Our office isn't very large. It is mostly filled with desks, chairs, and many samples of the masales we deal with. Even though we aren't a factory, the smell of spices usually lingers in the air around our desks. We don't have any polished mission statements or big fancy signs. We are just a small group of people trying to make a living. Most of our day is spent on the telephone or writing down orders in our ledgers. We still use a lot of paper because it feels more reliable than the computer sometimes. We have a small corner where we keep a kettle for making tea and coffee. It’s a very basic setup, but it works for what we need. We stay busy from the morning until the evening, just making sure everything is moving along as it should. It’s honest, everyday work in a busy part of Delhi.
