Our office and workshop at F-425 in Madipur Colony is where J K Electronics Pvt Ltd does most of its work. Being in New Delhi means we deal with a lot of dust and the occasional power cut, but we’ve learned to work around those things over the years. The space is filled with boxes of components, soldering irons, and bits of wire that seem to end up everywhere no matter how much we sweep. It’s not the kind of place you’d come to see a shiny showroom. Instead, it’s where we get into the guts of electronic devices to figure out why they stopped working or how to put them together. We have a few long workbenches that are always cluttered with different projects. Most of the guys here have been working with electronics for a long time, so they know the smell of a burnt capacitor immediately. We handle things for other businesses and sometimes for people in the colony who know we are here. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the shelves reaching up to the ceiling. We keep a small kettle in the corner for tea, which is pretty much essential to get through the afternoon slump. We don't spend much on decorations because we’d rather have better tools for the bench. It’s just a regular Delhi workshop where people work hard and get their hands a bit dirty.
