Bandhu Auto Traders

If you’ve ever walked down Hari Singh Nalwa Street in Karol Bagh, you know how packed it gets. Our shop, 17/1040, is right in the middle of all that action. Bandhu Auto Traders isn't a fancy place with glass windows. It's more of a functional spot where we keep all kinds of auto parts stacked up to the ceiling. Most of the day is spent looking through those stacks to find exactly what a customer needs. Our hands are usually a bit greasy from handling the metal components. There is a lot of shouting from the street outside because of the traffic and the other traders. We have a small bench inside where people can sit for a minute while we pull their order together. The light isn't the best in the back of the shop, so we often use a torch to find the smaller boxes. We’ve been at this address for a long time, so we know the other shopkeepers well. We often share tea in the afternoons when things quiet down a little bit. It’s a tough place to work in the summer because the heat just stays trapped in the narrow street. We don't use computers for everything; a lot of our notes are still kept in big registers with blue covers. It’s a busy life here in Karol Bagh, but it’s what we do every day without much fuss and without trying to impress anyone.
