The World School

Up here in Buldhana, things move at their own pace. We are situated on Circular Road, not too far from the Head Office, so it’s a fairly central spot for the town. The school isn't some massive complex; it’s just a place where we’ve been gathering to teach for some time now. In the winter, the mornings are quite chilly, and you’ll see the kids all wrapped up in their sweaters while they wait for the assembly to start. Our staff room is usually a mess of tea cups and half-graded papers, which is pretty much how it should be if people are actually working. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re more focused on whether the benches are sturdy enough. We get kids from all over the Buldana H O area. Some walk, some come on cycles. We spend a lot of time talking to parents about attendance and why their kids aren't doing their homework. It’s not always easy, but it’s what we do. The playground is a bit uneven, so you have to be careful not to trip if you’re running too fast. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, the teachers, and the principal trying to make sure the school day goes by without too many hiccups. It’s a simple life on Circular Road, honestly.
