S B S Inter College is located on Gonda Road in Atrauli, Aligarh. If you are driving through that part of 202280, you’ll see our gate and the rows of bicycles parked inside. It’s a traditional school where the bells are rung by hand and the morning assembly is held in the open courtyard. We have students from the town and also from the nearby villages who come in early every day. The classrooms have high ceilings and large windows, which helps since the summers in Aligarh are very hot. You’ll find old wooden desks that have been used by generations of students. We focus on the basic subjects and getting everyone ready for their board exams. The teachers’ room is always full of tea cups and bundles of answer sheets. It’s not a place with modern glass buildings or expensive facilities. We have a dirt ground where the boys play cricket or football during the lunch break. Sometimes the dust from the road blows in, so we are always sweeping the floors. The atmosphere is quite serious during study hours, but you can hear a lot of laughter during the breaks. We have been here for a long time, and many of the parents went to this same school when they were young. It’s just a regular inter college where we try to keep things running smoothly despite the occasional power cuts or rain. We like it this way.
