Ojas Chemicals

Ojas Chemicals is located right at Madhai Chowk, in the Moh. Chahmeer neighborhood. It’s one of those parts of town that is always moving, with rickshaws and motorbikes constant throughout the day. Our shop is an old one, and the walls are thick, which helps keep it a bit cooler when the summer heat hits. We deal in various chemical supplies, mostly for local small-scale industries and workshops. It’s a lot of lifting and moving drums and plastic containers around the storage area. The floor is grey stone and it’s seen a lot of wear over the years. We don’t have a big staff, just a few guys who know where everything is kept. If you ask for something, we can usually find it under a pile of boxes within a minute or two. We don’t use any of those high-tech tracking systems; it’s all written down in a big ledger on the main counter. The ledger is stained with ink and tea, but we never lose track of an order. People come to us because we’ve been in the chowk forever and they know we are usually around from eight in the morning until late. We don't have a mission statement or a fancy philosophy. We just sell chemicals and try to make sure we don't spill anything on our shoes. It’s basic work, and it keeps us busy enough that the days go by pretty fast.
