Amarkrushi Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Amargadh. We operate out of the home of Surendrasinh Karansinh Gohil. It is right near the Darbargadh Chora, which is a very old and well-known spot in the village. Having the office near the Chora means we are at the center of all the local meetings. People gather there in the evenings, and we often join them to talk about the company. The building is an old style, with thick walls that keep it cool even when it is baking outside. We don't have a corporate lobby or anything like that. You just walk in and we are there at the table with our books. It is a very personal way to run things. We see the same faces every day. Surendrasinh is usually around, and there is always some fresh water or tea available for anyone who stops by. We manage the accounts and the farmer lists with simple pens and paper mostly. The area around the Darbargadh has a lot of history, and it feels right to be doing our work there. It is a quiet life, but we are always occupied with something.
