Hitech Computer Academy

Our academy is located at City Point near Zaki Talav. It is a local spot where we teach people the basics of how to use computers and software. We have a bunch of machines set up in the main room and there is almost always someone in there typing away or practicing. It is not a big university or some fancy institute, just a place for regular people to come and learn some useful skills. We started this because we liked working with computers and wanted to show others in the neighborhood how to use them for their own work or studies. The rooms can get a little cramped when the classes are full in the evenings, but we manage to make it work. We don't use those overly polished teaching manuals that you see in big schools; we just explain things in plain English so everyone can understand. Most of our students live right around here or in the nearby blocks. We have seen a lot of people go from not knowing how to use a mouse to being pretty good at handling different programs. It is a nice way to spend the day and help the community out a bit. Zaki Talav is a good landmark to use if you are trying to find the building for the first time. We don't spend much on signs, just a simple one out front.
