Rampurhat-Ii Block Organic Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is based in Tarapur, right in the Rampurhat-II block. Birbhum is a place where almost everyone knows a bit about farming. We decided to focus on organic stuff because we were getting tired of all the chemical sprays. It’s not a big, polished business. We are just a group of local farmers trying to do things the old way. We call ourselves the Rampurhat-Ii Block Organic Farmer Producer Company Limited, which is a bit of a mouthful, but it says what we are. Being near Tarapith, it’s always busy around here, but our fields are a bit quieter. We spend a lot of time making our own compost and checking the soil. It’s much more work than just throwing some store-bought fertilizer down. Sometimes the bugs get to the crops and we lose some money, but we think it's better for the land in the long run. Our office is just a room in the village where we keep our papers and talk about the next season. We don't have big machines or fancy trucks. We use what we have and help each other out. It’s about sticking together so we don't get pushed around by the middleman. We are just regular people who live and work in Birbhum. We don't have any big plans to take over the world. We just want to grow good food and take care of our homes and families.
