Chowdhury Traders

You can find Chowdhury Traders right near the bus stand in Galigram. Being so close to the station means there is always a lot of noise and people moving about. We are in the Galsi area of Purba Burdwan. Our day usually starts when the first buses begin to roll in. We handle a lot of different trade items and mostly deal with local folks who need stuff for their farms or small shops. It is a bit of a cramped space because we try to fit a lot of stock in one area. Sometimes the trucks have a hard time backing in because the road is narrow and busy. We just make it work. It's not a fancy shop with glass windows, just a regular place where we keep our logs and count the inventory. The roof leaks a little when it rains hard, so we have to move things around to keep them dry. That is just how it is. My brothers and I run the place and we have a couple of helpers for the heavy lifting. We don't do much advertising, word of mouth around the bus stand is usually enough to keep us going. It is honest work and keeps us fed. If you are passing through Galigram, you will likely see us standing by the door or loading sacks. We’ve been here for years and know most of the drivers.
