Bhai Bhai Dukan

Our shop is situated right in the middle of Hiyatnagar village, not too far from the Murarai police station. It is a small place, but we try our best to keep the things people need for their daily lives so they do not have to travel all the way into the bigger towns. You can usually find us here from early in the morning until late in the evening most days of the week. The name Bhai Bhai came about because we run the place like a family, and most of the people who walk through the door are our neighbors anyway. It gets quite crowded in the evenings when everyone is finishing their work in the fields or at their jobs. We sell all sorts of stuff, ranging from basic groceries to small items for the house. The shelves are usually packed tight, and sometimes it is hard to find exactly what you want, but we know where every single item is kept. It is definitely not one of those big supermarkets you see in the cities. We have real conversations with everyone who comes in to buy something. Sometimes we run out of certain items if the delivery truck is running late, but that is just part of living in the village. We have been in this same spot for years, and the building is getting a bit old now, but it still serves its purpose for us. People stop by to chat just as much as they do to buy their supplies.
