You can find Priya Masala Udhyog at Plot No-1165 in the Bijoli Industrial Area. We are right near Pitambra Books Private Limited, which is a pretty big neighbor to have. Being in an industrial area means there are always trucks moving and the sound of heavy work happening all around us. Our plot is just a practical space where we handle different types of masalas. There isn't anything ornamental about the place; it’s all concrete and metal because that’s what works for us. We spend a lot of time sorting through raw materials and making sure the grinders are working the way they should. The heat in Bijoli can be quite something in the summer, so we have a few big fans to keep the air moving while we work. It’s a place where we wear old clothes because the spice dust gets into everything. We don't bother with a lot of fancy signs or corporate branding. We just focus on the day’s production and getting the bags ready for transport. Sometimes we have a cup of tea with the workers from the book company next door when we are all on break. It’s a busy environment but we have our own pace of doing things. We just keep our heads down and get the job done without making a big deal out of it. It’s just how things are at Plot 1165. We close the gates at the end of the day and start again tomorrow.
