Khatri Masala Products is located at D-8, Zone-II, in the Choti Parking area of Vyapar Vihar. It’s a busy trading hub in Bilaspur where there’s always a lot of noise and constant movement. Our unit is right in the middle of all the action. We spend our days grinding and blending different spices for local use. The smell is very strong; you can feel the sting of red chili in the back of your throat as soon as the grinders start up in the morning. It’s a dusty job, and we all end up with a bit of yellow turmeric on our clothes by the end of the shift. The building is a simple concrete structure with big metal doors that stay open most of the day for better ventilation. Trucks and small tempos are constantly pulling into the parking area to drop off raw materials or pick up finished bags of masala. We don't have a fancy reception area with a sofa. If you come to see us, you’ll probably find us near the packing machines or checking the weight of the sacks. It’s a lot of manual labor, and it gets quite hot during the summer months. Our focus is on getting the ratios right and making sure the bags are sealed properly. It’s a messy business, but it keeps us busy. We supply many of the local vendors and shops around the city. It’s just honest work that we do every day without much fuss.
