R L Pareek is located in Kalabagh, right in Shri Dungargarh. We are on Kalubagh Road, which is very close to the bus stand. Because we are near the bus stand, there is always a lot of movement. You hear the buses pulling in and the conductors calling out all day. It’s a very central spot to be in. Our place isn’t anything fancy. It’s a functional space where we handle our daily business. We have a few chairs for people to sit on while they wait, and a desk that has seen better days. It is a local operation through and through. Everyone in the area knows where we are. We don’t really do any big advertising; people just walk in or hear about us from their neighbors. The dust from the road comes in sometimes, so we spend a fair bit of time dusting off the counters and the shelves. It’s part of being in this part of town. We stay open until late most days because that’s when people are getting off the buses and need things done. It can be a bit chaotic when three or four people are trying to talk at once, but we manage to sort it out eventually. We don’t use complicated systems here. Just a pen and a notebook usually do the trick for keeping track of what’s what. It’s a simple life and a simple way of working for us.
