Pareek Dall Mill

Pareek Dall Mill is located out in Village Somursar. If you are coming from Nokha, you just head towards the Navali Gate bus stop and we are right there. It is a quiet village area, very different from the big cities. We spend our days processing different kinds of dal. The smell of the raw grains is everywhere, and you can hear the milling machines humming from down the road. My family has lived in Somursar for generations. We took over the mill from my father, and we haven't changed much since then. The Navali Gate bus stop is where most of our workers catch their ride home. During the harvest season, the place gets incredibly busy with trucks full of lentils arriving at all hours. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything. Our office is just a small room with a fan and a wooden table. We do most of our business through word of mouth. People know that we handle the grains carefully. It is dusty work and we are often covered in flour by the end of the day. We like the life here because it is peaceful and we are close to our roots. The village doesn't have much, but we have everything we need to keep the mill going. We just take things one day at a time and hope the weather stays dry for the drying floors.
