Manglam Career Institute

If you walk down Police Station Road in Bikaner, you will probably smell the bread from Bharat Bakery before you see us. Manglam Career Institute is right there in Kanta Khaturiya Colony. It’s a dusty part of town, but that is just how Bikaner is most of the time. We opened up here because it was a convenient spot for people living in the colony to get to. The building itself is pretty plain, just some rooms with tables and chairs that we moved in ourselves. We spend our days talking about careers and exams, trying to help people figure out what they are going to do next. It is not always organized perfectly; sometimes we run out of markers or the schedules get shifted around at the last minute. We don't have a big reception desk or people in suits. It’s just us, sitting around and talking through things with anyone who comes in. The heat in the summer can be tough, so we mostly rely on the old desert coolers to keep things bearable while we work. People stop by on their way home from the market or the bakery, and we usually have time for a quick chat. It’s a very local operation, and we like it that way because it feels more real. We just try to be helpful and keep the place running as best as we can every day. It’s just what we do.
