We’ve been here in Bikaner for a while now, tucked away in Rani Bazar at 29 Sharma Colony. If you know the area, you know it gets quite busy around the Bengali Temple, but our spot is easy enough to find once you’re on the right street. Working with Jaipur Rugs Pvt Ltd means our days are mostly spent around heaps of wool and patterns. It’s not always glamorous or anything, mostly just making sure things are moving and the weavers are getting what they need. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, but that’s just how it is here. The office isn't anything fancy, just a practical space where we handle the paperwork and keep track of orders. Most of us have lived in Bikaner our whole lives, so we’re used to the heat and the way things move a bit slower in the afternoons. People drop by sometimes just to ask directions or see what we’re doing. We don't have a big fancy showroom here, just the grit of the daily work. It feels like home because most of the staff have been here since the start. We keep a kettle going for tea, and usually, someone is arguing about the weather or the local news. It’s just a regular workplace where we try to get the job done without too much fuss. If you’re ever near Sharma Colony, you’ll probably see our sign hanging out front near the temple.
